Rejoice!

So after a long period of slacking, I have developed a working concept for a new set of postcards! ( It's seeming more and more like i'm going to have an abundance of postcards?) But I was thinking that I really need to turn out more product for my etsy shop as I've more or less turned a blind eye to it as of late. So in celebration of the upcoming holiday (Halloween!) i've sketched a bunch of wonderful doodles for some postcard designs! Also possibly bookmarks or buttons, but for sure postcards... I actually can't wait to get home and start working on them with my paint and pens!

Just ordered some new product in...

So, I finally ordered some more product. I've had a promo code for a discount on my fridge since some time last year and as it was going to expire this month, I decided to go ahead and use it.
I ordered some business cards as well as various button packages. I hope to order some bookmarks as soon as I find a reasonable place to have them printed. So far all I can find are places that want to print them, but at a minimum of 100 each, and I really dont need that many just yet, kay thanks!
-
As for what I did order...
I ordered three sets of five buttons featuring my Alice in Wonderland characters, the White Rabbit, The Mad Hatter, and my Cheshire.
I hope to display my stuff this March at this art festival that's going to be taking place on the 6th. While selling Miche bags, I'll also have postcards, stationary, buttons and magnets for sale, as well as having my new business cards out and on display.

In other news...
taxes tomorrow!

Japan Bookmark

Just the painting, but you can see where its going.

Bookmarks...

So I've decided to work on my bookmarks and try to get those produced...I'd like to have a good set of things on my etsy site soon (which involves spending money to get the products made, ugh-) to show a more rounded set of products. Basically all I have on there is the Ladies of Wonderland and my Valentine/Retro set.

I've had this idea for my places of the world bookmarks for a while and for some reason, drew up a bunch of sketches, annnndddd then did absolutely nothing with it. So i'm looking forward to this. It could be a good step, I believe.
I've started on my Japanese one first, of course, mainly because it had the most established and fleshed out sketches.
  1. Japan
  2. Korea
  3. India
  4. Phillipines
  5. America
  6. France

Those are the ones I have sketches for...I'll upload my Japanese one soon.

Giclee Print in and the verdict is...

The prints are amazing! I have more photos that i'd like to upload but they all upload sideways into blogger so, lolz. Heres the end result! Two photos! But luckily in these you can get an idea of how awesome they are...The paper is heavy weight, with a watercolor texture to it so it looks and feels like what you're holding is the artist original.
Im really happy with the quality and the way they turned out =]

*throws arm out-*

Something i've had painted for a while and then just refound on my computer the other night, lolz. I'm gonna order it as a small print I think, or maybe an ACEO series...might do more to expand on this sort of theme but as of right now, its a one man show.

Every time I get close to you...

So this is the art I created for Kathy. I hope she likes it...I'm interested in seeing how the Giclee prints turn out. I got a notice today that they were shipped this morning FedEx Ground so I should get them approximately....never, lolz. Or so is the word around the water cooler.

I really hope she likes it though. It gave me unexpected problems throughout the process, which was random, lolz. I busted the drawing out without any complications whatsoever, but then when I went to paint I had giant "*points at paper* NANI!?" moments, lolz. I put the words in there cause...they worked! Her face was like, "is she sad, is she happy, what is she? WHAT?"
and that was the end result -____-

I've had a slow couple days due to some uh, obsessive behaviors >> but I'm hoping to get it back together today xD I finished the ink for my Cheshire (finally, ahaha... ) and hope to get it painted if I don't get too retarded in the process. I also started a Mad Hatter but that was epic fail for some reason so I may play with that some more, as I don't wanna do much of anything on Bi-Weekly until its open to everyone. Don't wanna be unfair!

Anyway...click the title for a wonderful video and rather relaxing song. =]

Ta-da, I have it!

Final product:
Still A Galaxy Away
(from you)
9x12.
Ordering Giclee print today.
This is my submission for the Star Bi-Weekly.

As you can I have put in lyrics from a song that I enjoy, and I think its something i'm just gonna start squeezing into all of my pictures if I can xD I think it was a really good experiment and I enjoy the way it turned out, as long as the print looks this good i'll be in business! I hope it looks great so I can put it on etsy =D

Yay for good print quality!

Stefani and Jorel's Engagement Announcements have arrived!

And if I may say so myself, they look "very niiicceeeee." I'm really happy with them, and I can't wait for the couple to see them as well. If I had people actually following my blog these photos nor the jpegs of the art concept would have gone up before they are able to mail them out themselves, but since the two who are following don't care either way regarding this matter, it's all good xD

Congratulations to Stefani and Jorel though!

In other news, scanned in my paintings of the fairy and of my Star piece so I can get started on the digital parts of those...things are progressing well I see! I hope to have them completely finished as far as work to do to them so I can send them off and hopefully get the prints back before the 27th...not sure if that'll work out though unless I want to expedite the shipping...who knows. Well...time to get started!

Bi-Weekly Draw Fest Color Comp

So below is my color comp for my "Stars" image for the Bi-Weekly Draw Fest. Shes some sort of celestial existance herself, i'm not quite sure yet, but I enjoy her. Originally she was just supposed to be sitting on this tea cup that was spilling out the galaxy, but shes kinda turned into her own special being in the process. I want her to have tanner skin than my previous drawings, with white hair. Her coat will be white, with blue stars running down the sleeves, and blue cuffs to complete it. Her skirt is a blueish black, but it looks more black than blue in that comp doesn't it? Anyway, here she is, my galaxy creator:

Go Ask Alice.

So I drew these specifically for sticker/magnet/keychain design and inserted the words in over it. I can't decide if I like them or not but I don't think they're bad. The could be cute for stickers or keychains, me do think so. Also, this introduces my Mad Hatter and Cheshire onto the Alice scene. I've had these guys designed for quite some time now but just didn't put them into the same Alice series as the Ladies set for some reason.

I actually even have a totally different version of Cheshire drawn to fall into a set of postcards meant to compliment the Ladies series. My Cheshire is similiar in features, but the attitude and aura he gives off are two TOOOTTAALLLY different things. The Cheshire above is more so one of those people who stands back and observes, but can be pretty mischevious in his own right. The Cheshire for my postcard series is much more uh...flamboyant, as you can see below:

Whoa-ho right? Def. not giving off the same vibes as my other Cheshire. This ones all, " I wear tight pants. Don't act like you don't like it." *shakes his lil tush on the cat walk* I'm thinking of having roses and that lil bell repeat in the background behind him, but the roses will be kind of tainted and wilted, with an over all purple and blueish black tone.

See, I have this WHOLE story in my mind that relates to my Alice world...I guess I kind of imagined this Cheshire as the Cheshire tainted by the Red Queen. My Mad Hatter is missing an eye...I explained (and I use that word loosely) some of this in a previous post.

Busy busy busy

So, I finally added my Valentines postcards on Etsy!

Thats right! Take a look for yourself but these lovely ladies are up for sale! (Out of context, that's a rather messed up sentence.)

Just click on the title for a direct link to the page!

Aside from that, i've been working on my cousins engagement announcements, and thanks to the help of vector warehouses, came up with some pretty good stuff.

I think the ending result is pretty good...hopefully they like what i've sent, otherwise it's back to square one! But, its okay even if they dont like it, as its their wedding, and I understand the sense of wanting it to be P.E.R.F.E.C.T.
Exciting stuff though. Enjoying these designs and the colors~

Etsy Shop Up and Running!

So at the moment I only have four items listed on my etsy shop, and they're actually only two different pieces offered in various products, but the shop is up and running.

Although not listed yet as I have yet to get it back, I am offering all images as prints for sale. They are printed on very high quality paper that looks and feels as if you're getting the actual painting itself, so its very nice. Personally for a watercolor piece anyway, I think having that texture is important. As I have already posted information about this in a previous blog, I will repaste that here for your convience:

"Giclee Prints:
Fine art prints are very popular with artists who need to reproduce their artwork to sell at art shows or galleries. Please note that fine art prints are often referred to as Giclee Prints, and are high quality prints of the product. Somerset Velvet Giclee, which I use for my shop, have the authentic "look and feel" of high quality watercolor paper and are produced with Somerset Velvet paper and Epson Ultrachrome professional archival inks, so your product won't fade. Sizing and prices are as follows:
4x6 - $8.00
5x7 - $10.00
8x10- $20.00
8x12- $27.00
11x14- $40.00"
Hopefully this information helps some of you better understand the high quality of these prints. As an added offer, as well as costs, prints can include mat board. This needs to be specially requested however in "message to seller" otherwise I won't know to include it.
So, heres to a new start in a new year!
Take care~

Magnets

I promised better pictures, and here they are!

These are the standard 2 1/4 round magnets, just one of the sizes I will be offering. Other magnets will be offered in:

Round, Square - 2 1/4 for $4.00

Or larger magnets ( 3 inches) for $5.00 The larger magnets are only available in round.

Magnets are in!

Woo hoo - woo hoo!

Just got my first shipment of magnets in, and I must say, they look preeetttyyyy kick-ass. I ordered a set of magnets featuring the Ladies, to be sold on my etsy shop starting Jan 1st.

They are your standard 2 1/4 size, round, with a durable scratch and UV-resistant coating. Each item is printed with vibrant colors, and features a powerful magnetic backing to ensure that it stays where you put it, be it your refrigerator, microwave, your friends knee brace, or the metal cap your dog always wears to prevent aliens from reading his mind. So get yours today! Or on the 1st! Whichever!

I apologize for the quality of the photo, and I plan to take a better picture soon but I want to post it up on here anyway. Camera phone, while high quality, is so freaking sensitive that it doesn't matter how high quality the picture is, cause no one gives a damn about a high quality blur.

Valentine Series completed.

Valentine Series

Alrighty ladies and gents! The Valentine Set of 2010 has arrived, fresh out of my hand! Remember when you were a little kid and it was so exciting to go pick out valentines that you were going to give to all your friends and loved ones? Or even the excitement of going through the ones in your box that you got that day? Well that can happen again, with an adult spin! These sexy ladies will be happy to pass your valentine wishes along in the form of glossy postcards, and lets face it, who doesn't like to recieve mail that isn't a bill?

Also, i've included three of the images on a two tone mug for sale on my shop. Get it at ChristisImagination.etsy.com while it lasts! Mugs will be on sale through end of Feb! After that, mugs can only be purchased at special request having already been officially 'retired.'

*The Ladies of Wonderland are also going to be offered as a limited edition mug, but on a solid white one as opposed to the two tone.

On a random note, I like whales. I also like coffee. I think i'd like a whale that likes coffee.

Information on my Shop!

Alright, so I just got a message this morning from VistaPrint confirming that my order has been printed and shipped, and that the estimated date of arrival is on the 28th of December. Ordered it on the 13th, so assuming I got it on the 28th, that would make 16 days as opposed to the 21 day option that I picked. Not too shabby.

Etsy Shop Info:
printing services and pricing

In other news, theres been some interest among a couple of people of having my Ladies series printed and sold to them! I'm really happy about this as I've been working hard and as a professional illustrator, it's always nice to see when other people admire what you've put so much time and effort into. I plan on having several different options on my etsy site, but think i'll go ahead and list what im planning here.

Firstly, if its on the site, you can get the image in any of these formats, even if its not specifically listed as such. All one has to do is ask, and it shall be done, lolz. Okay! So for the products, keep in mind this is not a complete list, simply a list of various products I plan to have available:
  • Bookmarks
  • Magnets
  • Giclee Prints
  • Poster Prints
  • ACEOs
  • Stationary

Okay, so to explain, as im sure some of you are looking at this list and wondering what some of them are...

Giclee Print

Fine art prints are very popular with artists who need to reproduce their artwork to sell at shows or galleries.

4 x 6 - $8.00

5 x 7 - $10.00

8 x 10 - $20.00

8 x 12 - $27.00

11 x 14 - $40.00

ACEOs

ACEOS is a short way of simply saying Art Cards, Editions, and Originals. As stated by a fellow illustrator, "They bring original art into the grasps of all art collectors at an affordable price" -- Most of what I intend to be selling are Editions, which will all be signed, dated, and numbered. ACEOs are printed in a 2.5 x 3.5 format, and are the size of traditional trading cards, making them perfect to collect or trade. Pricing varies and will be set accordingly for each piece according to size, number of prints, or if its an original.

Poster Prints

Poster prints are an alternative I offer to Giclee prints for those who would like the art, but maybe looking for something a little cheaper. This is a service I will offer for any of my pieces. These images are printed on a professional laser printer using smooth acid-free paper. The resulting image in vivid and beautiful like a Giclee print, but without the watercolor texture. Its a wonderful, afforable alternative to a Giclee, and look fantastic framed.

8.5 x 11 - $10.00

11 x 14 - $15.00

12 x 18 - $20.00

16.20 - $25.00

20 x 30 - $30.00

Larger sizes are available, but pricing changes and will need to be discussed.

Stationary

This portion will include postcards to start with, but will expand into notepads and paper sets in time. The postcards will all come with envelopes, which will be (for the most part) 100% recycled brown envelopes, which you're welcome to decline should you have other options you'd like to consider. In some cases, certain designs will be placed on the envelopes to cordinate them with a series (for example, the Ladies of Wonderland come with tea party stamped envelopes).

I hope that helps with those of you looking to make a purchase. If theres something you want or need, message me and i'll be sure to get back to you. Thanks for looking!

Valentines Set

So ive started my work on my next set. I was thinking how I'd love to do a holiday series, and since theres no possible way for me to make Christmas or New Years, so I'm going for Valentines, which just lends itself perfectly to my style. Either gonna have a set of four or five girls solo'd with Valentine themes, not sure which number yet. Again will be burlesque, as I seem to enjoy that style of drawing. Think they'll make some pretty hot postcards for people to send out for the big day ={P ....mustache typo? Works for me. Anyway, thinking i'll have them up early to mid January. Look for them on my etsy shop, to be opened for the beginning of January.
