Done?

What do you think?

It's changed quite a bit, dont you think? Lolz. It went from the galaxy spilling out of her cup to surrounding her. I like it, but I don't know if I'd stamp it "FINISHED." Suggestions and comments welcome!

Yay for good print quality!

Stefani and Jorel's Engagement Announcements have arrived!

And if I may say so myself, they look "very niiicceeeee." I'm really happy with them, and I can't wait for the couple to see them as well. If I had people actually following my blog these photos nor the jpegs of the art concept would have gone up before they are able to mail them out themselves, but since the two who are following don't care either way regarding this matter, it's all good xD

Congratulations to Stefani and Jorel though!

In other news, scanned in my paintings of the fairy and of my Star piece so I can get started on the digital parts of those...things are progressing well I see! I hope to have them completely finished as far as work to do to them so I can send them off and hopefully get the prints back before the 27th...not sure if that'll work out though unless I want to expedite the shipping...who knows. Well...time to get started!

Bi-Weekly Draw Fest Color Comp

So below is my color comp for my "Stars" image for the Bi-Weekly Draw Fest. Shes some sort of celestial existance herself, i'm not quite sure yet, but I enjoy her. Originally she was just supposed to be sitting on this tea cup that was spilling out the galaxy, but shes kinda turned into her own special being in the process. I want her to have tanner skin than my previous drawings, with white hair. Her coat will be white, with blue stars running down the sleeves, and blue cuffs to complete it. Her skirt is a blueish black, but it looks more black than blue in that comp doesn't it? Anyway, here she is, my galaxy creator:

Angels and Clowns, Round and Round

Not too long ago, my Uncle Bill passed away after complications related to cancer and surgery. I had drawn this angel as something to give my Uncle Richard, his husband, as a more personal way of expressing how sorry I was for his loss. I wanted to share that up here today with everyone as it may become inspiration for another series of drawings: Angels. I'll probably order a print of this with my "Star" image to send to Richard anyway.
Hmm...
So the theme, as aforementioned, for this next Bi-Weekly DF is "Stars." I have sketches of an image that I was thinking of using but now I may change my mind and do an angel image to add to that. Or maybe, depending on time, do both. Yeah..thats more likely. Maybe not necessarily for DF but the idea. I think stars would look pretty behind an angel, da?
The idea i've thought up for my star image thus far is related to the Alice series without really being related. She is not any character i've done thus far, but the clothes are more wonderland-y than anything else I can think of,really. My sketches consist of a girly sitting on a tilted tea cup, with a galaxy spilling out and around her. Its a fun concept I think, and if I can pull it off, should be quite pretty.
Speaking of Bi-Weekly Draw Fest, I have quite a few ideas of concepts to play with when its my turn to decide what we're drawing...
  1. Circus
  2. Mod style
  3. Retro cartoons (Rainbow Brite, Jem and the Holograms, Lady Lovely Locks, etc)
  4. Candy Land
  5. Music Band or Music Icon

All of these I think could be quite fun, da? I wanted to list before I forgot, because I know that the time would've come around and i'd be sitting there all, " I know I had something great I wanted to do!"

Anyway, thats the extent of it today...don't want to ramble too far.

Bi-Weekly Draw Fest

So for starters, I have completed my cherry stationary drawing. I have to say though, I dont really like it. I was okay with it at first, but then it kind of turned into not liking it rather quickly as soon as I applied color (go figure.) I know now how I should've gone about things, by keeping the line work seperate and then having a seperate colored layer, but hey, live and learn right? Now i'll know better the next time we take on stationary. Anyway, here it is, my cherry tree drawing:

This one below is Chrissy Powells creation for the cherry theme. She says its incomplete as well. We both seem to have quams with ours but like I said, its a learning process! I think its really cute really, and that a lil shading would've pushed it into the "finished" place. Its pretty cute though =}

You can find more of Chrissy's stuff at

In relation to this, the next Bi-Weekly drawing assignment has been released. Its been decided that the drawing will be done in print format, as a Giclee print, so thats neat.

The topic is:

Now, it doesn't matter how stars are fit into it really. They can be in the background, they can be entertainment stars, they can be pattern in the background, anything. I've been thinking and im still unsure how to take it...Will probably try to create something to tie into my Alice series. Or maybe not...I dont knooooowwww. What do you think? I could create a seperate piece to add more variety or add another piece to the Alice series to help it expand? Im unsure...

In other news: I might have a bite on my Alice series...she seems to be requesting a cheshire, which I already have several drawings of but they're all boys, and I feel she may be asking for a female version similiar to White Rabbit. Perhaps I should do a drawing of Cheshire and Mad Hatter to fit those drawings. Obviously not in panties and bras, and ya know, lolz.
