While I have nothing of artist interest to write about...

I can say that I am looking forward to these next two months...while March is going to be insanely busy starting this tuesday, the next week will be awesome, then Cali at the end...and after that, in April, is Random Outing! woo hoo!

March

  1. March 2nd-5th = Working Bike Week
  2. Every Monday - Dance class at Y
  3. Every Tuesday - Dance class at studio
  4. March 10th - appointment with Heather
  5. March 11th - Drive to Savannah at some point.
  6. March 12th- Pick up Vlad
  7. March 13th- Stefani and Jorel roll into town
  8. March 13th-21st - Wedding fun with Stef/Jorel crew
  9. March 17th- St pattys in Savannah!
  10. March 21st- Get rid of Vlad-- and drive home.
  11. March 24th - Fly out to California
  12. March 24th-29th - Auto Club, California
  13. March 30th - Dance class at studio

xDD

Then April is Random Outing, and SCAD Job Fair, which im so looking forward to...been plotting out this Random Outing business for a while, and even if its just us being the camera people, I still think it'll be fun and funny (at least for us) once we go back and watch all of it. This first one might be a little rough for (countless) several reasons...we have to figure out timing...we're not doing chores left by others, we're probably gonna be the camera men, lolz. But whatever!

Fun to be had!

Lollipop vs 2

Previews for new Lollipop out! You can actually already get whole song apparently if you want...Though I'm confused because they show the girl, whoever she is, but in the whole song (thats out) there is no girl singing. Maybe there are two versions?
Anyway, I love this little sample...
  1. TOP gets to dance in a retarded fun manner even if he does look like the Lord of Gum Drops in this video.
  2. GD drops the telephone before the take
  3. at :24 GD starts a fun lil dance segment
  4. TOP knocks his glasses off
  5. Daesung isn't in horrible outfit this time.
  6. TOP has one blue eye!

Woo hoo!

Anyway, enjoy!

Legs so tired

So I just got back from dance class, and my legs are committing mutiny. I need to do some pop squats and push ups or something for this next segment we just learned tonight lolz. It involves upper body (of which I have none) and lots of dropping and popping back up, and given that my normal routine consist of none of that, i should probably work it in somewhere.
I've been thinking about asking more about the private lessons and seeing if I can't get a routine for a song choreographed just for me *___* Something that I can do myself...
I've been thinking between
  1. Slick Dogg - Dance
  2. Roslin Murphy - Ramalama Bang Bang
  3. Big Bang - Lollipop

But the Big Bang would need more people than just me, soooo, lolz. Heres a video clip of Youngbae and Jiyong doing a short routine to Slick Dogg- Dance.

ps. Why haven't I been inspired to draw anything lately??

Bi-Weekly Draw Fest: Alter Ego

I'm your Number 1.

So I went for more of a photo shoot feel than for a live performance, but I think it turned out very well. I enjoy the mix of obvious watercolor with the extreme flatness of the background and color, but how they still blend well. While not a sell-able item as I don't expect anybody to yearn for a wall piece of me as a rock star...It may be something I can offer as a custom item? I wonder. Would you buy something like this if it featured you?

Eugene Hutz

Dont know if you people know of Gogol Bordello or their singer, Eugene Hutz, but this is absolutely one of my favorite songs...

Just ordered some new product in...

So, I finally ordered some more product. I've had a promo code for a discount on my fridge since some time last year and as it was going to expire this month, I decided to go ahead and use it.
I ordered some business cards as well as various button packages. I hope to order some bookmarks as soon as I find a reasonable place to have them printed. So far all I can find are places that want to print them, but at a minimum of 100 each, and I really dont need that many just yet, kay thanks!
-
As for what I did order...
I ordered three sets of five buttons featuring my Alice in Wonderland characters, the White Rabbit, The Mad Hatter, and my Cheshire.
I hope to display my stuff this March at this art festival that's going to be taking place on the 6th. While selling Miche bags, I'll also have postcards, stationary, buttons and magnets for sale, as well as having my new business cards out and on display.

In other news...
taxes tomorrow!

Hey Gurl!

Well, some how... I have successfully wasted another week? I can honestly say that this past tuesday (yesterday) snuck up on me in a surprising manner. Lack of motivation almost made me miss my dance class but I was glad I got off my butt and went. Its just so easy to seclude myself and not do much of anything. I wish I was back at my old level of picking things up as quickly as I used to...I used to be a sponge with this stuff!
Now its like *has to force left foot in front of right--*
I was saying earlier I wish I could afford to go to more dance classes and just get out there and move my body more, but hey, price of life! and..I do mean price.
I know.
I need a sponser! lolz.
But i'd love to be able to be in a professional group...but one class a week for one hour isn't gonna get me there =/ But you know what...it does get me out of the house, and has me moving, so, thats what's important.
Hmm..maybe i'll get some art done tomorrow...

A churning tide...

Lovers at a great divide.
Why'd you laugh, when I know that you hurt inside?
And why'd you say...
Its just another day,
nothing in my way.
I dont wanna go, I dont wanna stay
so theres nothing to say.
And why'd you lie?
When you wanna die,
when you hurt inside,
dont know what you lie for anyway.
Now theres nothing left to say.
A change in time.
You dont know where to draw the line.
And why'd you say....
Its just another day,
nothing in my way.
I dont wanna go, I dont wanna stay,
so theres nothing left to say.
And why'd you lie,...
when you wanna die,
when you hurt inside
dont know what you lie for anyway.
Now theres nothing left to say.
Well
For a lonely soul,
you're having such a nice time.
For a lonely soul,
you're having such a nice time.
For a lonely soul,
it seems to me,
that you're having such a nice time.
You're having such a nice time.

Miche Bag Designs

So these are the designs I plan on submitting to Miche to see if they'll accept them into their line.
To those who are not aware, Miche makes purses that you can switch the cover to, so as to match your ourfit or the occasion without having to completely change over all the stuff you've been carrying inside the purse (which if you're a woman i'm sure you can appreciate the amount of random material that somehow manages to accumulate inside those dark voids.)
As luck would have it, Miche allows people to enter their own custom designs to be printed on the "shells", be it photos, drawings, etc etc. In some cases, depending on how the product is entered, you can submit your own artwork to be considered for their line of products. If they accept your art, you then get commission from each piece that sells through the Miche website, as well as your work out there! Sounds good to me, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Japan Bookmark

Just the painting, but you can see where its going.

Bookmarks...

So I've decided to work on my bookmarks and try to get those produced...I'd like to have a good set of things on my etsy site soon (which involves spending money to get the products made, ugh-) to show a more rounded set of products. Basically all I have on there is the Ladies of Wonderland and my Valentine/Retro set.

I've had this idea for my places of the world bookmarks for a while and for some reason, drew up a bunch of sketches, annnndddd then did absolutely nothing with it. So i'm looking forward to this. It could be a good step, I believe.
I've started on my Japanese one first, of course, mainly because it had the most established and fleshed out sketches.
  1. Japan
  2. Korea
  3. India
  4. Phillipines
  5. America
  6. France

Those are the ones I have sketches for...I'll upload my Japanese one soon.

Bi Weekly

SO! Here it is! My Candy Land theme drawing!

I rather enjoy it. Its kind of ironic in the sense that it is absolutely nitch like what I had pictured in my head, but in the end I still think its a decent piece. In my mind there was a lot more yellow and pastle and over all "candy" effect, but when I was painting it killed me to add so much yellow and it just kinda got slapped with blues and purples, lolz. I dont know, i'm going to have to challenge myself and make an exclusively yellow painting one day as an exercise or something, i'm not sure. BUT YEAH! What do you feel? I'm thinking of ordering it as a giclee or an ACEO...Might have to think on that one.
NEXT BI-WEEKLY THEME!!!!
Alter Ego
Theme details:

This means you in a totally different universe! You could be a super hero, a mad villain, a space alien or a dinosaur, anything you want.
  1. No size restrictions
  2. No Media restrictions

Only rule is to make sure you go all out!!

This is your chance to be whoever or whatever you want to be! Make it count!!

Its been a very unproductive past couple days...

Not sure why but i've had an extreme lack of motivation to do much of anything?

But today I started doodling ideas for our Random Outing logo and intend to finish my painting for the CandyLand Bi-Weekly theme if I can get around to it. I'm not sure why its taking me forever to get that done but truly, I think its just lack of motivation.

Maybe two weeks is too long of a time span? I'm not sure.

Hmm so...

Random Outing!

(A Family Outing Parody)

Basically we're tired of watching awesome game shows and have decided to create our own!

We plan to have our first filming in April in Savannah, so thats exciting. This first episode will be more about getting to know each other and the games will be directed towards building a closeness in that manner. Think of this as something like MXC meets Big Brother if you haven't seen Family Outing for reference.

So far our group consists of :
  1. Christi Thomas
  2. Chrissy Powell
  3. Stefani Delo
  4. Jorel Belarmino
  5. Vlad Mackarov

We're looking for some more men to help it balance. At least one more.

We've got some good games planned out though...I think this will be enjoyable =]

Our logo is a play on theirs, which can be found here:

In unrelated news, she's crazy:

Time for work!

Giclee Print in and the verdict is...

The prints are amazing! I have more photos that i'd like to upload but they all upload sideways into blogger so, lolz. Heres the end result! Two photos! But luckily in these you can get an idea of how awesome they are...The paper is heavy weight, with a watercolor texture to it so it looks and feels like what you're holding is the artist original.
Im really happy with the quality and the way they turned out =]

CandyLand

So as you may know (you should know!) that our theme for this next couple weeks is Candy Land! I went to Target in the blind hope that they'd have the original I loved so much, but alas, all they had was the new version. Im not sure why a game like Candy Land needed updating, but whatever. My biggest gripe is how they changed and got rid of some of the characters. They didn't change the game any it seems, but just totally revamped random people, and in doing such, turned the prettiest character into some weird ice skater!

RIP Frostine.

Anyway, they did have THIS which I thought was kind of cool for preschools or whatever. The game board and game has been contained within this plastic form that is shaped much like a book, so that the teachers can clean it up, close it, and just put it on the shelf amongst the other games made like this (of which they had a whole variety)

I did think this was a pretty cool idea as it'll make the shelves look much cleaner and the games are almost guaranteed a longer life span. So that was a proper upgrade.

So in other news, here is where i'm at for my candy land drawing:

Exciting things on the horizon!

So heres what's what:
  1. Hair cut tomorrow, 11 o'clock. Z'omg.
  2. Dance Class at 7:30. Z'omg.
  3. Finish painting CandyLand piece in between 11 and 7. Z'okay.

Let the excitement begin!
Im looking forward to my new hair and to this dance class a crazy amount, so I really hope they both work out well. I figure if the hair doesn't i'll just become an avid beenie wearer (more so than usual) and if the dance class doesn't, well, you only pay per class from what I understand so no loss there.

Also, on a different note, so far my opinion of Brutal Legend? It 'effing rocks. \m/

I can't wait to be able to dance sharply to this song:

While the video makes me sad as its become so americanized and lost its originality, the song is still amazing~
